Jersey Mike’s Subs “Month of Giving” Campaign to Support Special Olympics USA Games Athletes

100% of March 30 “Day of Giving” Sales to Support Team New York

Albany, NY – Jersey Mike’s Subs franchises throughout the state are dedicating support for Team New York this March during the company’s 12th annual “Month of Giving” campaign. It’s the first time Jersey Mike’s owners and operators nationwide will support a single cause as part of the campaign.

In addition to in-store and online purchases this month, special deals will be announced each week on Twitter and through Jersey Mike’s email club to bolster support for athletes. The fundraiser culminates with Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 30, when local Jersey Mike’s restaurants will give 100 percent of the day’s sales – not just profit – to the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games and the local state programs attending the USA Games.

“We are so grateful to Jersey Mike’s and most of all, its customers, for this generous campaign,” said Stacey Hengsterman, President and CEO of Special Olympics New York. “At 200 strong, Team New York will be our largest-ever delegation of athletes and coaches to compete in USA Games. It means the world to us to know that Jersey Mike’s and its fans are in our corner.”

“Nothing is better than being able to give back,” said Mitch Cohen, a member of the Special Olympics New York Board of Directors and franchisee with Jersey Mike’s. “Being part of the Special Olympics New York Board gives me the chance to do that, and to watch these amazing athletes continue to grow into the best people they can be. Go Team New York!”

The Special Olympics New York USA Games delegation will include nearly 200 athletes and coaches competing in 14 sports: Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Equestrian, Golf, Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Triathlon, Track & Field, and Volleyball. USA Games is scheduled for June 5-12, 2022 at Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. More than 5,500 athletes and coaches from all 50 states and the Caribbean will compete. Jersey Mike’s is the presenting sponsor of the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, and it hopes to raise even more for the non-profit organization than last year’s record-breaking $15 million fundraising campaign. Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving has raised more than $47 million for local charities since it began in 2011.
