What is coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Coronavirus is an infectious disease caused by a new virus that had not been previously identified in humans.

What are the symptoms of coronavirus?

People with coronavirus (COVID-19) have mild to severe symptoms of:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. Eat well-balanced meals. Half of your plate should be fruits and vegetables and half should be lean protein, whole grains and dairy.

Eat healthy snacks like apples and peanut butter, low-fat yogurt with berries, carrots and celery with hummus, small handful of almonds.
