Thank You for the Capital District Region Vaccine Clinic!

Smiles and cheers closed out the week, as nearly 40 Special Olympics New York athletes and coaches in the Capital Region were invited to attend a vaccination clinic Friday at the Center for Disability Services in Albany.

“The social isolation brought on by this pandemic has been especially difficult for our athletes, and then along came our guardian angels,” said Special Olympics New York President & CEO Stacey Hengsterman. “Words cannot express how grateful we are to the many agencies and advocates who made it possible for our athletes and coaches to get the vaccine today. Thanks to them, we are that much closer to getting back in the game – and to us, that means everything.”

Special Olympics New York extends its thanks St. Peter’s Health Partners, Capital Region Vaccine Network, Albany Medical Center, New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) and most of all, the Center for Disability Services, for hosting the clinic and providing the personnel needed to make it a reality.
