Special Olympics New York will host the 2023 State Fall Games Oct. 20-21. The Games will bring hundreds of athletes to the Capital Region from all across the state for a weekend of competition and a celebration of inclusion with the Glens Falls community.
Special Olympics New York will host the 2023 State Fall Games Oct. 20-21. The Games will bring hundreds of athletes to the Capital Region from all across the state for a weekend of competition and a celebration of inclusion with the Glens Falls community.
The Games will kick off with a signature Special Olympics New York Opening Ceremony in Glens Falls City Park Friday night, Oct. 20. Competition will take place all day Saturday, Oct. 21, in seven sports: bocce, cross-country running, cycling, golf, equestrian, soccer, and softball. The Games will also include free health screenings for participating athletes.
Volunteers are needed to support the Games. Jobs include event setup and breakdown, registration, scorekeepers, timers, photographers, golf caddies, and more. No experience is necessary. Interested volunteers can sign up at specialolympicsNY.org.
Area venues hosting the 2023 State Fall Games are: Glens Falls City Park (opening ceremonies), Adirondack Sports Complex (bocce), Cole’s Woods (cross-country running), SUNY Adirondack (cycling), Skidmore College (equestrian), Brookhaven Golf Course (golf), and Morse Athletic Complex (soccer and softball).
