It's Competition Time!

The most important priority is the continued health and safety of all of our participants: athletes, Unified partners, coaches, volunteers, family members, caregivers and staff.  Special Olympics New York has established a Return to Activities plan developed in close partnership with Special Olympics International and in compliance with federal and state guidelines. We encourage you to review the Return to Activity Protocol plan and the High Risk Fact Sheet.

Our plan prioritizes the health and safety of our community while also ensuring an opportunity for every Special Olympics New York athlete to get back in the game for a Summer Sports Season, whether in-person or at home. Please view the resources below to help you better understand what to expect and provide you with additional information.

Are You Ready?

Let’s get back in the game with the Summer Sports Season. Whether you are able to participate On the Field (in person) or Off the Field (individually or as a team), we have an activity just for you! Remember, if you participate in the On the Field activities, you can also join in  the Off the Field activities as well. Work with your coaches to determine the best options for you.  Once the season wraps up, we look forward to celebrating with all of you in June for our Virtual Celebration!

On The
Field

In Person events offering regular training in eight sports, implementing phase 1 and phase 2 return to play protocol where eligible

Off The Field

A variety of fitness activities for athletes to train and compete individually where group practices may not be possible due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

Please visit our Health & Wellness page for additional fitness resources.
