We're Back!

Ready to return to play? We are too. As our state continues to take steps to reopen safely, Special Olympics New York has developed a Return to Activities plan. We encourage you to review the Return to Activity Protocol plan and the High Risk Fact Sheet. The most important priority reflected throughout this plan is the health and safety of all of our participants: athletes, Unified partners, coaches, volunteers, family members, caregivers and staff.

Special Olympics New York has established a Return to Activities plan developed in close partnership with Special Olympics International and in compliance with federal and state guidelines. In-Person activities will be carried out in accordance with these guidelines and only as long as it continues to be safe to do so.

Our plan prioritizes the health and safety of our community while also ensuring an opportunity for every Special Olympics New York athlete to get back in the game for a Fall Sports Season, whether in-person or at home. Please view the resources below to help you better understand what to expect and provide you with additional information.

Let's Get Started

Get back in the game with the Fall Sports Season, with mid-August marking the earliest possible time to bring athletes together in person. Whether you are able to participate in-person or at home, we have an activity just for you! Work with your coaches to determine the best options for you. Remember, if you participate in the In-Person activities, you can also join in on the fun of the At Home activities as well. And once the season wraps up, we look forward to celebrating with all of you in November for our Virtual Celebration!
